It seemed different when it all started, they told us

” The white man’s land is the heaven where your gods live.”

They led us astray as they weighed our worth on a tray

They called us monkeys,
They refused to tell us that we were the keys to their prosperity

They called us BLACK!!
They told us that those black eyes are of no use!!!

They sold us out!!!
Calling us worthless!!

But here we are!!
Seeing through the mud of lies they caged us in.

Here we are, seeing the power in the black blood running through our veins!!

Here we are, mangled, battered but not destroyed!!!
